Local Children’s Boards
There are five Local Children’s Boards (LCBs), which are accountable to the Children’s Executive Board each with their own Terms of Reference. Information about these can be found by following the links below
Purpose of Local Children’s Boards
The LCBs are the focus for ensuring the local action and delivery of services to meet the needs of children, young people and their families who live in the geographical area serviced by the LCB.
The boards achieve this through
- Planning for Services and Service Delivery
- Performance Management
- Actively seeking and responding to the needs of local children, young people and their families
- Representing local issues at Children’s Trust Executive Board and advise on wider issues within the developing Children’s Agenda
- Establishing effective links with the Area Action Partnerships (AAPs) within the locality served by the LCB in order to advise and inform the AAPs in relation to issues regarding the Children’s Agenda for the area.
More details about the Local Children’s Board can be found in the Governance Arrangements.
