The following priority objectives have been identified.
Be Healthy
We will enhance children and young people's wellbeing, particularly at key points in their lives. In doing this we will support the: development of their physical, mental and emotional, and sexual health; adoption of healthy lifestyles; and help them to choose not to take illegal drugs.
Stay Safe
We will work to keep children and young people safe from: maltreatment, neglect violence and sexual exploitation; accidental injury and death; bullying and discrimination; crime and anti-social behaviour in and out of school; and wil ensure that they have security and stability and are cared for.
Enjoy and Achieve
We will ensure that children and young people: are ready for school; attend and enjoy school; achieve stretching educational standards at primary school; achieve personal and social development and enjoy recreation; achieve stretching educational standards at secondary school.
Make a Positive Contribution
We will help children and young people to: engage in decision making and support the community and environment; engage in law abiding and positive behaviour in and out of school; develop positive relationships and choose not to bully and discriminate; develop self-confidence and deal with significant life changes and challenges; develop enterprising behaviour.
Achieve Economic Wellbeing
We will enable children and young people to: engage in further education, employment or training on leaving school; be ready for employment; live in decent homes and sustainable communities; have access to transport and material goods; live in households free from low income.
