County Durham Partnership Board
The County Durham Partnership Board is made up of senior personnel within the following organisations:
- County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service
- Durham Constabulary
- DCC: homepage
- North East Chamber of Commerce
- Durham University
- Voluntary and Community Sector
- Clinical Commissioning Groups
- Public Health
- Durham Police and Crime Commissioner
These organisations are also represented on one or more of the thematic partnerships, along with other relevant partners.
County Durham Partnership Forum
The forum brings together the partnership board and local communities. Local communities are represented by the chairs of the 14 Area Action Partnerships (AAPs) and a representative from County Durham Association of Local Councils (CDALC).

Area Action Partnerships
Each of the AAPs has a board made up of representatives from organisations such as the county council, town and parish councils, health, police and fire services, community and voluntary groups and the public.
An area forum is held twice a year and members of the public are welcome to attend.
Town and Parish Council
Within Durham County there area a total of 104 parish and town councils and 23 parish meetings. These local councils can have responsibility for a single area or neighbourhood. They can represent local interests to external bodies and work to improve local services with partners. A representative of County Durham Association of Local Councils (CDALC) attends meetings of the County Durham Partnership Forum.
Voluntary and Community Sector
There are many benefits of volunteering, including developing your skills, improving your quality of life, allowing others to benefit from your skills or providing an opportunity for you to improve your local area.
