Sustainable Community Strategy

The Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS),  'Altogether Better Durham', sets the long term vision for the future of County Durham. It also identifies the priorities that we feel are the most important ones to tackle for the area.

The SCS will contribute to the delivery of national, regional and locally agreed priorities and targets. It does not provide a comprehensive list of everything happening to improve the county, but sets out the key priorities for change over the next 20 years and how we plan to deliver them. Performance towards these priorities will be regularly monitored.

The renewed Sustainable Community Strategy was launched at a County Durham Partnership event in November 2014 by Cllr Simon Henig, Chair of the Partnership and Leader of Durham County Council.
