What We Do

Aims and Objectives

The aim of the Children and Families Partnership is to deliver improvedoutcomes for children, young people and their families in County Durham.

This will be achieved by:

  • Providing the required senior leadership to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in County Durham
  • Acting cohesively to ensure implementation of agreed actions and achievement of key priorities to improve outcomes
  • Leading on joint strategic planning for children, young people and families by understanding need, and the causes of need; finding common purpose and priorities, and producing the Children, Young People and Families Plan
  • Agreeing the action that partners will take to achieve key priorities
  • Working together to ensure that resources are directed to meet key priorities, so that outcomes are improved
  • Working together to ensure that all actions contribute to the improvement of safeguarding in County Durham from the earliest intervention to child protection, since safeguarding is everyone's business
  • Working with other County Durham thematic partnerships in addressing issues which impact on children, young people and families
  • Ensuring that the voice of children, young people and families is heard at every level of the Partnership, that plans and strategies are informed by these views and that services reflect the views of those that use them
  • Leading joint service delivery to improve outcomes for children, young people and families- acting together to deliver effective services to impact on outcomes
  • Acting as a sub group of the County Durham Partnership
