About the Partnership

Learning and Skills

The Group is responsible for taking forward the learning and skills strand of the County Durham Economic Strategy 2002-07 and the People strand of the Single Programme Investment Plan 2005-2008, which encompasses the three priorities of 14-19 Learning, Higher Level Skills and Management Development and Economic Inclusion.

The Learning and Skills Council act as the strategic lead and working group Chair in this area and are joined on the working group by others within the County who are involved in or have responsibility for the delivery and planning of education and skills. The group also respond, through a process of consultation, to relevant policy initiatives and changes within the learning and skills arena.

The Learning and Skills Working Group is responsible for delivering the People Strand of the Commissioning Framework for Single Programme Funding from 2006-08.
